The City of Bangor Community Connector is requesting sealed proposals from qualified businesses and organizations to provide the transportation component of the City's Complementary Paratransit Service.
As a recipient of Federal Transit Administration funding, the Community Connector must provide separate transportation to persons with disabilities who cannot use the regular fixed route bus system. Rides must be provided to persons with disabilities within 3/4 of a mile of the fixed route system. This complementary paratransit system is a separate and distinct program from the State-based MaineCare non-emergency transportation program.
Contractor will provide personnel, vehicles, fuel, and related equipment, supplies, and facilities. Federal regulations require certain kinds of monitoring as part of the contract, including periodic audits by the City and a drug testing program.
The contract shall be for 36 month period commencing on or about July 1, 2018 and expiring on June 30, 2021. The City of Bangor reserves the right, upon mutual agreement with the vendor, to renew this contract under all the same terms and conditions for an additional two one-year periods.
Bids are due on April 25, 2018, and there will be a pre-bid meeting on April 6, 2018.
