NOTICE OF PROPOSED RATE INCREASE
PUBLIC HEARING
Customers of the Guilford-Sangerville Sanitary District are encouraged to attend a Public Hearing to be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 6:30 PM in the District Office at 22 Dean Road, Guilford.
The purpose of this hearing is to allow public input regarding the District's proposed increase in sewer user rates to become effective January 1, 2019. This increase, if approved, would raise the rate from the current $4.52 per 100 cubic feet of water to $5.20 per 100 cubic feet, an increase of 16%. The Readiness to Serve charge would increase, if approved, from the current $10.00 per quarter to $12.00 per quarter. Information supporting the proposed increase will be furnished at the hearing and there will be an opportunity for questions and comments. The increases to customers are listed below.

The District's last rate increase became effective January 1, 2016. A significant decline in both industrial and residential revenues necessitates the proposed increase. The District has worked hard to reduce expenses over the past few years, but is unable to make up the loss in revenues.
